Story to Tell

I was reminded recently that everyone has a story to tell.

Tell your story.

Doesn't matter how: memoir, fiction, movie, play, blog post, journal, recipe book, painting, quilt, cross stitch, audio recording, whatever.

Tell your story. In your way.

Because everyone has a story.

And everyone deserves to be heard.

  1. I once read a collection of linked stories called Nine Brides and Granny Hyte about all these women who gathered together in a quilting Bee and each one told her story to the group. It was a delightful book. Can't remember the author.

  3. You're so right! I once got the opportunity to go to a nursing home to talk with residents, trying to encourage them to write their own stories down.

    Love the new profile picture!

  4. I think about this every once in a while, when people start reminiscing about the 90s. I've got a couple of vague ideas for stories about high school. Someday I'll be far enough removed from then to maybe start writing them!

  5. I try to remember that when I'm frustrated with someone. They too have a story. :-)

  6. Perfectly said. Writing has brought me much comfort over the years and I hope it continues to do so.

  7. Completely agreed. It's when we forget that fact that we suffer. We aren't meant to be silent and keep everything in.
