I was reminded recently that everyone has a story to tell.
Tell your story.
Doesn't matter how: memoir, fiction, movie, play, blog post, journal, recipe book, painting, quilt, cross stitch, audio recording, whatever.
Tell your story. In your way.
Because everyone has a story.
And everyone deserves to be heard.
I once read a collection of linked stories called Nine Brides and Granny Hyte about all these women who gathered together in a quilting Bee and each one told her story to the group. It was a delightful book. Can't remember the author.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting story. I'll have to look it up.
DeleteSo true that we all have our unique stories to tell.
ReplyDeleteyep.
DeleteYou're so right! I once got the opportunity to go to a nursing home to talk with residents, trying to encourage them to write their own stories down.
ReplyDeleteLove the new profile picture!
Thanks, I bet you heard a lot of good stories there.
DeleteI think about this every once in a while, when people start reminiscing about the 90s. I've got a couple of vague ideas for stories about high school. Someday I'll be far enough removed from then to maybe start writing them!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see those stories, though I totally get needing time and space before writing them.
DeleteI try to remember that when I'm frustrated with someone. They too have a story. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt can be hard to remember sometimes.
DeletePerfectly said. Writing has brought me much comfort over the years and I hope it continues to do so.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agreed. It's when we forget that fact that we suffer. We aren't meant to be silent and keep everything in.
