Writer's Christmas List

I saw this comic over on Behler Blog

I thought it pretty much covered everything though I might add a baby sitter a couple hours a week for some writing time.

What would you add to the list?

  1. LOL. Make best seller's list in NY times because of the bonus in the contract.

  2. Oh, I recently saw this too, on fb maybe. It's funny and yeah, I'd have a list like this to give Santa too. :D

  3. I'm not embarrassed to admit I'd like a big F A T advance for my next three books! There I said it! I also want my house sold before the end of March!

    1. I'd like the advance too! Of course, first I'd like a contract. Good luck selling the house!

  4. I'm lame. I just want a certain list of books for Christmas. But your babysitting idea is a good one (not for me, for you...my kids are in school). I've heard of writer-moms doing this and actually being able to get a book completed in that time. Plus, I think it might be tax deductible. :)

    1. I've got a list of books too. I've thought of the babysitter but there's not much money and not many people who could do it. It's on the list of things I want to do with my advance when I get one. Of course, three more years and my kids will be in school anyway.

  5. Dear Santa,

Please bring back McDonald's Holiday Pies. They ran out in our local area well before December 2nd, even though they're supposed to have produced enough to last through the end of the month. They taste just like funfetti cookies filled with custard and I will be sad if I don't ever get to eat another one this year.

    1. Lol, favorite writing snacks should definitely be on the list!

      Sorry about your holiday pies.

  6. Ha ha, love it.

Maybe the ability to write every book perfectly on my first draft? ;)

    1. Hmmm, I kind of like revising. I learn so much. Maybe I would ask that I could do it in two drafts rather than 15.

  7. Love this! I need an intern. Someone to help keep the library catalogue up to date, organize all the stuff I collect into a filing system, type up random notes and things to look up, hunt down rare library books, fetch coffee, make phone calls...

  8. LOVE THIS! I'm going to see Santa this year, even if my kids are too big. I need all those things and a room with a view.

    1. Room with a view is a great idea! Especially if it has a door.

  9. Funny! How about lots of shelf space at the local bookstore for my book when it comes out...

  12. I'd love someone to manage all the digital stuff. I enjoy it, but there aren't enough hours in the day to write and blog and Tweet and Facebook and.... :)
