Insight

There is a series of articles I found interesting. They are the writing insights an author wished they had known when starting out. This link is to the first part, but at the bottom there are links to the other three parts.  Hope you enjoy.

  1. "Successful writers read," Article 1 says. Well since I haven't written for the past few years, there's still hope because I read. Lots. I lost my writing confidence somewhere along the way and the only way to get it back is to open a doc and write.

  2. Thanks for the link. I looked at it and bookmarked it to read later when I have more time. It looks like something I could use, especially after first drafts. I'm trying to write one now.

  3. The one complaint I have about writing is that it cuts into my reading time.

    1. I know. Some days it's so hard to choose between them.

  4. These were good insights and reminders. It really IS interesting the stress we writers put on ourselves. I especially liked the one about not comparing your first draft to the writers you admire. And a successful writer is one who finishes what they start and keeps perfecting the craft. Nice share, S.P. Hope your own writing goes well.

  7. I so agree that you are the barrier to your own writing. I'm living proof of that. When I recognize that I've created the road blocks, it becomes easier to move past them. (Spelling error in my first post. :0) )

  11. When making iced coffee, be sure to plan ahead. There are many recipes that call for hot coffee to make iced coffee, but you will have frostier coffee if it is thoroughly chilled first. Avoid leaving it out too long. You just need it out long enough to be at room temperature. After that, place it in the fridge to cool.
