linkage

I've got a couple links for you today.

This first one was pretty fun.  Teddy Rosevelt was a pretty well read person. This is a compilation of some things he said about reading and I have to say, they were interesting and pretty spot on.

This second link is something we all need to be aware of, the rise of plagiarism in ebooks, specifically in self pubbed ebooks. This was an eye opener to me.

And, if you like author interviews at all, there's one here with author Lori Benton.

Go forth and enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the links. I didn't realize there was a rise in plagiarism. Yikes!

    1. Yes, it's a lot easier to plagiarize digital books.

  2. You know, I google searched my debut novel the other day and found it being pirated all over the place. I can totally see plagiarism being an issue when digital print is so easy to snag and drop.

    1. So sorry about the pirating. Hope your publisher can shut some of them down.

  3. Wow, the article about plagiarism is pretty upsetting. I don't self-publish, but I see how this can be a huge issue for those who do.

    1. It's easier to get away with from self pubbed books because they don't have big publishers with lawyers looking out for them, but the problem isn't limited to self pub. All digital books are pirate bait.

  5. Great cross-section of links. Plagiarism is a tough one too beat. It must be incredibly frustrating.

    1. It must be. I bet it's hard to see the work you put so much time into, not to mention stress in trying to get it out there, taken and used this way.

  7. I like Roosevelt's list! I finally remedied a huge gap, and got Lori's first book on my Kindle app. Can't wait to start!
