50 States of Pray

It’s been a very difficult year for me and I’m afraid I had let myself become worn down and bitter. Even a little depressed.  This month that has changed.  I’ve had too many examples of how blessed I truly am.

Things can be hard, hopes and dreams may not be fulfilled.  But it doesn’t matter.  I am so very blessed in the life I have, in my family, in my home.  I’m so grateful for this season that reminds me of what’s important in life, and how lucky I am.

I hope each of you are having a wonderful and blessed year end.

Merry Christmas everyone!

  4. Think of the mess of life sometimes as the part of the image a child sees from the bottom of their grandmothers embroidery hoop...the top, the part that is being created, is beautiful. And sometime you will see why the messy looking knots and long stitches were necessary to create the blessings. Merry Christmas!

  19. Hi Sara,

You are blessed and you draw inspiration from all that is truly good in your life. At times we can give depressive thoughts permission to overwhelm our lives. We refuse to let that happen. For we know that the niggling self doubts are telling us lies.

Your upbeat attitude is greatly admired, my friend.

I do so hope you and your loved ones had a peaceful, positive Christmas Day.

    Gary :)

  20. Yeah I know what you mean. A few times this year were really hard on me, but right through them, I knew I was still blessed and still ten times as happy than I would have been if I did anything else with my life.

  23. The only time we humans have no troubles is before birth and after death. In between that's what it's all about and how we manage those troubles is our life. It's the dash on the tombstone that holds the story. May your dash be filled with wonderful things.

  29. Once we start counting them, the blessings can be overwhelming - and even more so sometimes for the fact that we took them for granted.
Wishing you a joyous new year!

  31. Sometimes it's difficult to overcome what seems to be an overwhelming amount of negative things that string themselves throughout out our year. But in quiet reflection, when the good is remembered, too, it can sometimes makes things a little brighter. Happy New Year!
