Lean, Mean, Writing Machine

Just for fun you have got to do this Writers Diet Test.  You paste in a snip of your work and it tells you if you're lean,  trim and fit, needs toning, flabby, or heart attack territory.  Plus it breaks it down into verbs, nouns, prepositions, adjectives etc.  Not only is it fun it really helps show you a few weaknesses.  I was mostly lean or fit and trim.  I had a couple things that got into the needs toning section but overall my writing is healthier than I am.

So hows your writing diet?

    2. It is fun. I don't know if you're like me I had to take several examples from different places throughout my WIP. Just to make sure I got an even sampling.

  4. I'm mostly lean, but also have some flab: but then my current narrator's voice is quite elaborate, so...

    1. You do have to take into account style and voice of narrator. But it's fun to see.

    1. Yea, I had a little too much fun... it was interesting to see the differences between scenes. I could tell which ones had been written more recently in the process.

  9. Oh fun! I put in 1000 words of Rosa's story, and was very excited to find out it was all lean! I'll try my newest idea as soon as I type up some scenes...

  10. Dang, my comment didn't stick. And I'm sure I wrote something witty ... like I tried this once and it was hilarious, but not productive. I ended up wasting half the day testing out my scenes. In the end I had a sugar fix and got back to work. But it was fun.

    1. Productive? No, definitely not. But it was fun. The sugar fix and getting back to work sounds like a good idea.
