Our new son!
This last week has felt like riding a roller-coaster through a tornado. It has been crazy hectic but oh, so fun. Sorry to everyone for not visiting your blogs or responding to comments.
Last Tuesday evening we got the phone call. Friday we started driving (12 1/2 hour trip. Plus bathroom breaks). Sunday we picked him up. And Tuesday we finalized the adoption. (This is not normal but the state we adopted him from has some pretty easy going adoption laws). Now we are home and loving it.
Truck Boy is two years old and the sweetest, happiest kid you have ever met. He is super friendly and will introduce himself to and hug every single person we see.
Mini Engineer and Pretty Girl are adjusting really well. Tuesday is the first day of school then hopefully we can get into some sort of routine. I'm looking forward to writing time again.
So, what's new with you?
So very excited for you, Sarah. Your little boy is adorable. Enjoy your time with your family and don't worry about the blogging for now. And no news could top yours. So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little chap, congratulations.

DeleteSara, how wonderful! I wish I could give you and Truck Boy a hug--since he gives them out so willingly! What a beautiful face.
ReplyDeleteA virtual hug will have to do. He truly is adorable.

DeleteSo wonderful, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHe's so beautiful! Congratulations, Sara. I'm so happy for you. School starts early. Here it doesn't start until Labour Day weekend is over. Hope you have tons of fun.
ReplyDeleteI congratulated you B & W forum but couldn't resist adding a comment here. I have watched far too many souls trying to make the best of being bumped from foster home to foster home. In Canada, adoption is incredibly difficult. So sad when I know there are many people, like you, waiting, desperate to open up their homes and hearts. Thank you for wrapping yourself around your new child. You are very lucky. He is very lucky.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet words, Rose. Adoption is becoming more and more difficult here, too. It's sad, but slightly more understandable when you realize each of the requirements/hoops/red tape/crazy rules was put in place because a child was hurt. I just wish we had the type of world where it wasn't necessary.
DeleteHe's adorable - congratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz!
