Over at Compuserve we've had a thread of 'shelfies' going. It's been fun (if a little jealousy inducing) to see everyone's bookshelves. It's a great way to get to know virtual friends, make them feel less virtual and more actual. While I actually have 8 bookshelves in my house here's a look at two of them.
Yes, I did cut out everything surround the shelf. I didn't want you to be disturbed at the clutter or amazed (disturbed) by all our Star Wars memorabilia. Cause that's a whole other post.
So, post your own shelfie and put a link in the comments. I'd love to see your shelves.
I'd have to cut out the clutter around mine, though I'm on a massive decluttering time. Your bookshelves look awesome.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars post!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd be the one to ask for it!
DeleteI didn't participate because I've packed all our novels to make the move easier. Never thought the house wouldn't sell. Dang. I guess when I finally do open the box, it'll be like Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh… LOVE bookshelves… I think my bookshelf has more books piled up around it as it does on it, LOL… magic!
ReplyDeleteMy bookshelves became nick nack collectors. All my old books are in the garage in plastic totes. If I want to read something, just grab it on the way to the deep freeze.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a little food with your books. I used to keep books in an old dresser. Perfect place to store them.
DeleteLove it! Your library looks as eclectic as mine! :)
ReplyDeleteVery eclectic. But why be tied down?
DeleteShelfies! I LOVE IT! I love my book cases, even if they are messy and surrounded by clutter. They are so precious.
ReplyDeleteHa, I love it. It's always fun checking out other people's bookshelves. I have a whole wall full of books cluttering shelves. It's wonderful. But I was running out of room. Thank goodness for the kindle otherwise the whole house would be chock full by now ;)
ReplyDeleteWHAT a FUN HOP!!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE bookshelves and have many in my home, but not nearly enough to hold all my books. I even have one dedicated to my blogger buddies books!
What a cool idea! (I like the concept of a shelfie much better than a selfie...)
ReplyDeleteWe have so many books and shelves laden with them around here, I should be ashamed of myself. But I'm not.
Never be ashamed of books or book shelves! Unless there aren't enough books on them, of course. :) The only time I've ever taken a selfie was when I needed a picture for the blog.
DeleteI wish I could. My shelves are in storage, along with all but about 10 books. Yes, it's been difficult. Yes, I'm desperately missing my lovelies. We'll be in the new house soon...
ReplyDeleteOhhh this is too cute. And you're right, a wonderful way to get to know each other a bit more. My boyfriend and I just moved in together and before then, I loved having more shelf space. But alas, he's taken up the other half...I do appreciate all the art books however. (He's an artist).
ReplyDeleteAdding books to your collection is always a bonus. Sharing the bookshelves can be a test in any relationship. The good thing is if you can survive that, you can survive anything! Good luck!
DeleteWhat a fun idea! I'll have to do this for sure :) Well, if I can make mine look presentable, haha! They're triple parked in places right now!
ReplyDeleteMany of my shelves are double stacked with more books slid in on top or shoved in wherever. That's what makes them interesting.
DeleteOh my shelfies are embarrassing...I've run out of space on most of them, so I've stacked books in front and on top and behind and...and I look like a book freak, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI do have four boxes of books siting in the corner of my room....
DeleteMy bookshelf isn't actually a bookshelf, but a giant buffet that I've treated as a bookshelf. Shelfies...I like that concept!
ReplyDeletewhat fun girl!! u should selfie a pretend reading in front of said bookshelf. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat concept... shelfies!
ReplyDeleteYours look very neat and orderly!
