Learning From Others

I’ve got a couple amazing links for you today.

First is Barbara Rogan talking about premature submission.  Not only is it a well written post with a lot of info to help make sure you don’t succumb to this malady it’s a fun read.

Next is Kiersten White talking about motherhood and writing.  I’m sure you guys could still enjoy this as you have things to balance in your life too.  I love, love love this post.  I love how she says you’ll never be completely balanced.  Because you never will be.  You’ll never  be able to do everything you think you should.  I love that she says to be fully present in whatever you’re working on and I love the last paragraph.  I’ll let you read that on your own.  Just know I wear the badge of pride.

Both of these posts came at times when I needed to hear them, therefore they really spoke to me.  I hope they can help someone else out there.

    1. Just read them both... they were... amazing. Serious. I've made the mistake of premature submission on both my querying novels... but i think that's because I didn't know any better... so really, I'm just learning and doing my best. :D Thanks SO MUCH for sharing, Sara!

  3. While I can't relate to Kiersten White's motherhood, I'll admit to being a bit unbalanced. (Yes, that _is_ maniacal laughter you hear.) ; )

You are a caretaker though, so you understand those demands on your time.

  8. Thanks, these sound great. I think my first novel suffered from this ailment - not being ready. At the time I didn't have any awesome blog buddies to help out, lol!

  9. Thank you for the links. I had already read (and related to) Kiersten's post but I hadn't seen the premature submission post. I was so happy to read that post because I am such an impatient person and I could totally see myself submitting too early. I have that bookmarked now so that I can reference it as I get closer to querying.
