First check out this bookshelf. Not that I would recommend doing that to a working piano, but if you have one that is no longer used for it's original purpose I think this is pretty cool. I love how it fits right under that eave.
Second, check out zencherry's top ten signs you're a writer. I do pretty much all of these. I especially love 7 and 8.
Finally, Lara gave me the Liebster award! Thanks Lara.
I'm supposed to answer some questions.
1. What's your favorite writing/reading snack?
Probably Peanut M&Ms. Though mint ice cream is pretty darn good too. As are Cheetos.
2. Where have you always wanted to visit?
Russia, New Zealand, Scottland (I've been there once but I need more time) Iceland, Mongolia.
3. What's your favorite accent?
Whichever one is talking to me.
4. What movie do you always watch when you find it on TV?
Um, I don't really watch TV.
5. What's your favorite hobby?
Well, writing is a career, and reading is part of that, so I'll go with gardening and quilting. Neither of which I really have time for anymore.
6. Say you can quit your day job and do whatever you want. What would you do?
My day job is being a wife and mother and I would NEVER quit that. Best. Job. Ever. Though somedays I dream of having a little apartment all to myself where I could read and write and bake.
7. What made you want to start writing?
I've always had stories to tell.
8. What is your favorite genre?
Don't know if I have one, there are stories I like across all genres.
9. Where is your writing/reading nook?
I have two small kids, I read/write wherever I can get two minutes peace.
10. What book do you wish you had written?
Just the ones I'm working on. I wish I could write them in the way the deserve, the way that will allow me to share them with the world.
11. Early bird, night owl, or something in between?
In between but more of an early bird.
If you want this award go ahead and take it. Let us know in the comments so we can come visit. If not, go ahead and answer one of the questions in the comments so we can get to know you too.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! What a cool bookcase. Loved learning more about you, Sara. I love to garden too and I don't watch much TV. I much prefer reading.
ReplyDeleteHi Sara,
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from working, writing mommies and to get to know you better! Makes me feel less alone in the world... I write while my daughter(s) moulder in front of the telly. (Go Diego!) Too bad kids shows are only twenty minutes long!!!
~Just Jill
Yea, Diego has saved me a few times. Although, as my kids carry a pretend baby jaguar around the house, insist on taking him to the store and putting him in our family photo I wonder if I should worry.
DeleteI wonder sometimes that my MS will sound more like a children's show than what it's supposed to.
Congratulations on the award!
ReplyDeleteThere's a coffee shop in town that has turned an old defunct piano into shelving for teas-- it's very cute.
Great to learn a bit more about you. :)
No. 5 on Zencherry's list gave me great pleasure.
ReplyDeleteYour answer to no. 3 made me smile and I'm just like you on your answer to 11.
Fun post, Sara. :)
Uh oh. I have to admit grammar isn't a strong point of mine. Actually it's like trying to speak a foreign language. I try but I know I have a long way to go.
DeleteWith as little time as I spend playing my piano anymore, and all the bazillions of books all over our house, that bookshelf idea would work out just dandy for me. (Somehow, I don't think my hubby would go for it, though.)
ReplyDeleteYea, The Engineer would have a conniption if I even suggested it.
DeleteHA! Mine's an engineer, too. Retired, but the mindset is still the same.
DeleteIt's not so much a career as a personality trait.
DeleteWhoa, that piano is cool! And now you're talking about writing food... Must. Find. M & M's...
ReplyDeleteLook me up if you ever get back to Scotland!
ReplyDeleteYour answer to 10 was cool, I wouldn't have thought of that but so true.
Love that bookshelf. And your list of travel destinations is very close to my dreams. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea for a bookshelf! I'll be on the lookout for an old piano! I love cheetos and P-nut M&M's too, but who doesn't right? I didn't know you had little ones. And I thought I was the only one who occasionally dreamed of having an apartment alone, but I wouldn't bake. I'd just write and order takeout. Cute post. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, the baking would only be occasionally. It's not fun if it's required. For daily sustenance I'd do take out or rely on cold cereal. I take it you have little ones too?
DeleteThat piano bookshelf is very cool...would love to have something like that in my place.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award, as well!
I want one too, though I'm afraid to even show the picture to hubby let alone suggest it.
DeleteI do everything on that list too!
ReplyDeleteI'll come to Scotland with you! So far I've only been to Edinburgh twice for a couple of days. Hardly enough!
I am a night owl who have always quietly envied early birds. I love mint ice-cream- it is de-lish, and I would feel as if I'd just brushed my teeth after I have a scoop of ice-cream!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, it must be nice to be able to stay up after 9pm. My friends all make fun of me.
DeleteM&M's and writing when you can fit it in. Yup. That sounds like me too!
ReplyDeleteGreat getting to know you better, Sara!
That is a very cool piano bookshelf!
ReplyDeleteNew Zealand is a very beautiful place. I hope you get to visit it.
I hope so too. :)
DeleteCongrats on your award, Sara! It's always fun to learn a bit more about blogging buddies. Have a great day!
DeleteI want (no, need) that bookshelf! *salivating* Perhaps I will answer these questions on my blog soon. Thanks for the blogging idea. :D I enjoy peanut butter in candy. My fav is Reeses. Numms! I loved my time spent in Scotland. Such an amazing, beautiful country. You def should go back. We should go together! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for Reeses. Which is why I don't keep it around the house. It doesn't last long except as fat around my waist.
DeleteToo bad my parents have a regular piano, not a grand piano. It's not quite the same thing when it comes to bookshelves.
ReplyDeleteMy reading and writing nook is in my bedroom/home office. :D I even have a lock on the door, but keep forgetting to use it.
