    1. It's all good. The agent pitch would have been nice but I didn't hang my ego or my hope of publication on it.

  6. Thanks for sharing that. My fave pic is the one of the kid having a meltdown. I'd so love to be able to do that some time.

  7. Thanks for the laugh! That was great. I'm with JL Campbell on the meltdown.

  8. Someone else emailed this to me a while ago and I wrote back, 'Why do we even do this?' And she said, 'Because it's what we do.'

    1. Exactly. And come one, how boring would a post like that be about regular life?

    1. I think I would feel better if I'd made it to the judging, even if I'd gotten creamed. To be excluded randomly is frustrating.

  13. I didn't even know about GUTGUAA. But I googled and found it.

Sorry to hear you didn't make it.

Apparently there are still ways to win: http://www.deanabarnhart.blogspot.ca/2012/09/gutgaa-agent-pitch-contest-round-1-has.html

    1. Yea, Guess I wasn't one of the first 200 people to email her. I'm sure her email was packed with entries. I could still try the small press pitch but I'm still querying agents and am not sure I'm ready for that rout yet. I'll have to think about it.

  16. Love it! I tried making a .gif the other day, but it didn't work; I can't seem to get the speed of the images right.
