Sorry this post is so late. It's been one of those days.
We've all heard to show not tell. Yet for new writers (and sometimes experienced ones) that can be fairly vague and difficult to do. Writer Unboxed had a great post on showing vs telling.
That's something I'm striving for, I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI found it pretty helpful, hope you do too.
DeleteThanks for the link, hope tomorrow's a better day!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny when I look back at my old writing. It's chock full of telling and other horrible mistakes. lol!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's good though, you can see it now. That means you've improved! Hooray!
DeleteGreat link, Sara! It fits with the April exercise at the forum, too.
ReplyDeleteI know, I've actually been hit on all sides with showing vs telling recently. I think that means someone is trying to tell me something and I better pay attention during my next round of edits.
DeleteThat's a great article. I'm sorry you had one of those days. Hope today is better!
ReplyDeleteThanks! So far it is.
DeleteThanks for the link, Sara!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it.
DeleteGreat advice. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteShow not tell is that bit of advice that your parents give you that you really want to ignore even though they're right. But maybe that's just me :D
ReplyDeleteExactly right!
DeleteThank s. I'll look at it now.
